Issues
- Ensure Rancho Cordova youth and sports league have access to our facilities rather than renting them out to other cities.
- Better maintained grass sports fields cut to meet the needs of the sports being played.
- Updated Community Sports Complex
- The turf on the soccer fields at Mather is filled with holes and moderately patched. Maintenance currently needs improvement.
- Updates to include the growing demand for pickleball courts
- BMX track similar to Elk Grove Regional Park
- Additional dog park(s) South of highway 50
- Community fun runs / walks
- Updated water features in existing communities that lack them (i.e., Rosemont)
- Improved pathways/pavement for parking and walkways to sports fields at Dave Roberts Community Park.
- Higher-end pathways/Walking/running paths with listed distances around major parks (with lighting)
- Strength training Circuits for seniors along walking paths
- Adult access to lap swimming at community pools
- Improve program offerings and beginner courses with a lower barrier to entry.
- More jobs/programs run by CRPD staff instead of outsourcing to private brands at increased costs. CRPD currently nets almost half of what the vendors charge, which increases the cost to our community members.
- Disc Golf Course
- Combo Street Soccer / Basketball courts for our diverse community base.
- Sand Volleyball courts
- Level areas in strategic parks for sports and some parks left for more leisurely activities.
- Dance and Fitness offerings. Annual Community benefit dances.
- WiFi in the parks (like Johnson-Spring View in Rocklin)
- Adult leagues for Volleyball, kickball, softball, soccer, and basketball that are better advertised and available for all genders.
- Connect with community youth to volunteer for improvements
